Do Vačice sleeping bags have foot covers?
Why don't Vačice have foot covers?
We receive a lot of messages asking this question, so we'd like to explain why foot covers aren't included in our children's sleeping bags - even though at first glance they may seem like a practical detail.
Our baby sleeping bags are growable, meaning that your baby can wear them for a longer period of time – often several seasons. However, during this period , the size and shape of the feet change and each child has a different length or width of feet. It is therefore not possible to design a universal length of foot cover that would be comfortable and safe for all children throughout the entire wearing period.
We also found during testing that the caps create a so-called "half-out, half-in" situation , which leads to the feet slipping, getting tangled or causing discomfort while sleeping or moving. They can also pose a slipping risk, especially when walking on smooth floors.
For this reason, we have decided not to include covers in our bags. It has proven best when the feet are either completely free outside through the holes, or completely hidden inside the bag. When walking, we recommend either bare feet or good quality non-slip socks. For sleeping, most children will need regular socks (such as our merino socks for cold feet ), which are not attached to the bag and therefore do not restrict movement.
💡 TIP: We only recommend socks when the room temperature is below 20 °C . In other cases, merino sleeping bags maintain ideal body temperature, and most children feel most comfortable with bare feet - which also supports natural thermoregulation.
